Login hang at Welcome screen for "normal" (non-power) user
Hi, We installed Wins 7 Enterprise N with Service Pack 1 update and added the PC to our company domain. Roaming users in Administrator group ("non-managed") can log into the domain without any problems. However, users in Users group (non-power/managed) at times experience either a hung Welcome screen or blue wallpaper. How do we fix it? Thank you! BTW - we tried clean boot and it still does not work. Also, if we start remotely Multimedia Class Scheduler and/or Shell Hardware Detection service, they can log in.

Hi, I would like to share the following document with you. This may occur when the membership of the local Users group is changed from the default settings. By default, the local Users group should contain the Interactive account and the Authenticated Users group. By default, User Account Control (UAC) is enabled. At logon, the standard user access token is built, and if the Users group is missing the default members, the user will be unable to interact with the desktop, resulting in the blank desktop being displayed. Then please refer to the following link. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970879 Note: this article applies for Windows Vista and Windows 2008, but also suit for Windows 7.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi Juke, Thanks for replying! "Interactive; Authenticated Users" are already in Users Groups, which we left as of default. FYI - we had users added under Administrators Groups, based on domain setup. Anything else we need to check? Please advise.
